New stuff
Hey all! I hope you’re doing great! If you’ve seen my IG you may have seen some things I’ve been working on. First off sewing has been an absolute blast and I love it. The rolled hook cases are a ton of fun to make and I love getting to be creative with finding matches and then making stitch markers to match. I had several requests to also look at making some project bags.
This was a process, I knew I’d modify whatever pattern I got to add hook pockets in the bag. After SEVERAL attempts at designs and modifying existing bags I ended up just making my own. I used different techniques from several of the patterns like how to line the bag and what to use.
I wanted to make the bag huge, because one of my biggest peeves with bags is that if I’m working on a, let’s say a throw, I cannot keep everything in the one bag. I also of course wanted hook pockets. After I posted a design I liked on IG I asked for some feedback. Some of the things I had thought about doing but basically wanted confirmation before actually doing so that others would want it as well.
So I added a grommet hole to the top with a large lobster claw clasp to attach stitch markers too and could also be used for running yarn through it as well. I also added velcro to the front pocket to keep it closed. I also made the bottom have box corners. It’s a bit of work but I’m in love with how it turned out.
That all being said, I’ll be getting a few of these together and putting in the shop. I also am wanting to add some just stitch markers. What I’m wanting to do is make the shop a one-stop shop all the thing you’ll need. Maybe eventually there will be yarn as well. That will be way down the road. My work schedule has changed too, so I’m hoping with that I’ll have way more time for things! Wish me luck!
